A Robot & AI Museum in Dobong-gu, Seoul
Seoul RAIM (RAIM) combines robotics, AI, education, art and public participation in one contemporary museum destination.
Located in Dobong-gu, Seoul, the Seoul Robot & AI Museum (RAIM) is a dedicated museum and public experience space exploring robotics, artificial intelligence, and the evolving relationship between technology and people.
Rather than treating robots as objects behind glass, RAIM encourages visitors to see, interact with, and think about robotics and AI through exhibitions, hands-on experiences, educational programs and special exhibitions.
Its focus extends beyond how robots work. RAIM also asks a broader question: How will robots and AI change the way humans live, work, create, and interact?
For anyone interested in consumer robotics, humanoid robots, AI, or the future of human–robot interaction, RAIM offers a useful look at how advanced technology is being introduced to the public in a museum environment.

Robotics + AI + Education + Art + Public Participation
More than a conventional exhibition hall displaying robots — RAIM was designed as a place where visitors can experience emerging technologies and consider their wider impact.
RAIM is designed as more than a conventional exhibition hall displaying robots.
The museum combines robotics, AI, education, art, and public participation to create a space where visitors can experience emerging technologies while considering their wider impact on society.
Organized Across Several Levels
Public Entrance & Intro
A public area introducing visitors to robotics and AI — the first contact with the museum’s theme.
Hands-On & Interactive
Hands-on zones where visitors interact with robotics and AI technologies directly.
Permanent Exhibitions
The core story of robotics, AI and the evolving relationship between technology and humans.
Special Exhibition Areas
Rotating themes exploring emerging technologies and changing cultural angles.
Educational Ateliers
Hands-on educational programs, ateliers and maker-style learning opportunities.
Lectures & Public Programs
Public lectures, talks and technology-related events connecting experts and communities.
The permanent exhibition focuses not only on technological development, but also on questions surrounding the relationship between robots, AI, and humans. Special exhibitions provide opportunities to explore changing themes and emerging technologies.
See, Touch, Interact, and Think
Three key layers distinguish RAIM from a conventional glass-case technology museum.
Explore Robots and AI
Direct encounters with robots and AI technologies through demonstrations, exhibits and interactive experiences — designed to make complex concepts accessible to a general audience.
Hands-On Robotics Experiences
Multipurpose spaces bring robotics and AI technologies from different companies, closer to a robot experience center than a traditional technology museum: you don’t just look at robots — you interact with the technologies behind them.
Think About Robots and Humans
A permanent exhibition with a human-centered perspective: How should humans live with intelligent machines? What happens when robots enter everyday life? What should remain uniquely human?
The Architecture Is Part of the Subject
Melike Altınışık Architects × WITHWORKS — a curved-metallic exterior that communicates ideas about technology, movement and digital design.
RAIM itself is designed as a contemporary technological landmark.
Completed in 2024, the museum was designed by Melike Altınışık Architects (MAA) in collaboration with WITHWORKS. The project uses a distinctive curved metallic exterior and incorporates advanced architectural and construction techniques.
Instead of putting robotics inside a conventional museum building, RAIM uses the building itself to communicate ideas about technology, movement, digital design, and the future.
Robots → Architecture → Technology → Human Experience — the building becomes part of the story rather than simply a container for the exhibitions.
A Meeting Point Between Communities
From technology companies to families and general visitors — RAIM is a space where technology meets art, while encouraging discussion about change, values and society.
Technology Companies
Showcase opportunities, public programs and partnerships centered on robotics and AI products and platforms.
Researchers
Exposure to new ideas about human–robot interaction, AI ethics, design and the social implications of increasingly capable machines.
Artists
Technology-and-art cross-overs with special exhibitions and public programming linking creativity with engineering.
Educators
Hands-on ateliers, programs, and public lectures making robotics and AI approachable for every age group.
Students & Families
Younger audiences and cross-generational visitors: discover the human side of machines together.
General Public
Technology put into a public cultural environment — increasingly relevant to the consumer-robotics shift.
A Bridge to Physical AI
Why consumer-robotics audiences should watch spaces like RAIM.
That makes it particularly relevant to the growing field of physical AI — technologies in which AI systems interact with the physical world through robots and other machines.
Programming Beyond the Permanent Galleries
Outdoor programs and cross-cutting events extend the museum beyond its interior footprint — including 2026’s 'Seoul RAIM: Robot City'.
RAIM programming can extend beyond its permanent galleries.
For example, in 2026 the museum hosted “Seoul RAIM: Robot City,” an outdoor media-facade experience combining robots, AI, immersive visuals and the museum’s architecture.
The 2026 program ran from August 28 to December 5, with additional reserved hands-on experiences scheduled during the period.
This kind of programming demonstrates how RAIM can function not only as a museum, but also as a public platform for experimenting with new ways of presenting robotics and AI.
Why RAIM Matters for Consumer Robotics
RAIM represents a shift in how robotics is presented to ordinary people — a shift that Robodoor tracks closely.
For Robodoor, RAIM is particularly interesting because it represents a shift in how robotics is presented to ordinary people.
Robotics is often associated with factories, research laboratories, universities and industrial automation.
RAIM puts the technology into a public cultural environment — where visitors can encounter robotics not as an industrial tool, but as something connected to daily life, entertainment, education, creativity, and society.
This is increasingly important as robots move beyond laboratories and factories and begin appearing in homes, stores, hotels, hospitals, entertainment venues and public spaces.
RAIM and the Consumer Robotics Ecosystem
RAIM is one part of a much larger consumer-robotics story: it sits on the “experience” layer between factories and everyday life.

How robotics evolved
Robot Experience Center

Robot Theme Park

Robot Hotel

Home
How robots become everyday life
RAIM is particularly relevant to the “experience” side of consumer robotics. It is not simply about owning a robot. It is about understanding what happens when robots become part of the environment around us.
Robotics and AI as the Central Subject
There are many science museums with robotics exhibitions. RAIM is different because robotics and AI are the central subject of the institution itself.
- Dedicated robotics + AI focus across the whole institution
- Hands-on experiences integrated from entry-level onward
- Permanent + rotating exhibitions side by side
- Educational programs, workshops and ateliers
- Technology and art under the same curatorial frame
- Human-centered discussion instead of only machines
- Robot-themed public programming beyond indoor walls
- Robotics is one theme among many unrelated areas
- Primary look-and-read displays behind glass
- Permanent exhibitions only — few rotating themes
- Limited hands-on programming, if any
- No cross-over with contemporary art or design
- Machines first, social questions secondary
- No cross-cutting robot-themed public programming

Shifts robots from factories to daily life
The building is part of the subject itself
The museum connects technology with architecture, art, education, and human experience — making it less like a traditional museum of machines and more like a public laboratory for thinking about the future.
